Investigations Office Campaign

The Challenge

The campaign concept, Speak Up, aims to take away the stigmas surrounding reporting acts of harassment, and encourage those who’ve been victimized to feel safe to speak up. With simple and approachable language and illustration, we demonstrated that the UBC Investigations Office (UBC IO) is a non-bias, non-judgmental party and a safe, smart environment to report an incident.

WHAT WE DID

  • Creative Management
  • Visual Design
  • Illustrations
  • Animations

Visuals that Resonate

Created almost entirely internally by our graphic designers, animators, project managers and more, at UBC Studios, a department at the University of British Columbia, we sought to maximize our resources and by using graphic devices create a coherent and easily adaptable design through various digital and print materials. Our campaign assets included a variety of materials for awareness and resources for UBC IO staff to use when communicating with people.

Visual Identity

Plainly communicating important policy procedures with folks involved in a sexual misconduct or discrimination process is critical to the mandate of the Investigations Office. UBC Studios’ assets are helping us do that in an accessible, approachable, and warm way

The Outcome

For the first time, the UBC Investigations Office now has a strategically aligned campaign of assets communicating who they are in an open, honest, and most importantly an approachable manner across all touch points for students, staff, and faculty. In doing so, they hope to increase usage so they can better support people who have experienced harassment or abuse.
