We provide educational media support to all UBC faculty and staff at no cost for eligible projects.
Whether we collaborate with you or you do it on your own, we want your project to be a success. Before commencing your project, UBC Studios recommends that you come and speak with us.
We can help:
- With grant proposals
- Clarify expectations
- Determine scope, production format, and timeline
- Decide the best approach (Do-It-Yourself vs. Professional)
Dedicated studio spaces are available for faculty and staff to tackle their own educational media projects.
- One-Button Studio
- Lightboard Studio
- Virtual Reality Lab
- Production Studio Space
Media Training Workshops
We hold small media training workshops that focus on specific media-related topics, such as lighting and general filming tips, which are available for faculty and their student helpers.
If your team or course requires media production training, email UBC Studios at firstname.lastname@example.org for available training workshops or to set up a customized session for your specific needs.
DIY Online Resource
The UBC Media Makers website is a resource for anyone looking for more direction on how to create their own DIY media project. On this website you will find a series of step-by-step guides on Live Action, Screencast, Animation or Audio productions.
Monthly DIY Media Support Sessions
UBC Studios also offers monthly DIY media support sessions on the last Wednesday of each month in the Main Studio from 10am to 11:30am. RSVP is strongly recommended for these sessions, however we also accept drop-ins for those who need specific help with their DIY projects.
